This code, will add an image to frame 1 of a gif (and output as gif as well). You'd then convert the mp4 to gif with whatever preferred method you want. Make sure the png file or whatever you are using has the same dimensions as in your video file. If you just want to insert it at the first frame, change the 100 to a number more than the amount of frames in your file, or just choose a ridiculously large number if you're not sure of the amount of frames. It inserts the image every 100 frames, including the first frame. Using mp4 files, I have had this in a batch file from when I wanted to insert an image in a video at a specified frame interval: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -loop 1 -i frame.png -filter_complex "overlay=enable='not(mod(n,100))':shortest=1" -map "" -map 0:a -c:a copy output.mp4
